The proposed development provides medium density urban housing comprising of 10 apartments with 234m² of retail on ground floor. The site’s location on the western end of Alexander Street allows access to a range of community facilities within the local precinct.
The building’s design responds primarily to the setbacks and local character of the surrounding buildings. Considering the materiality of the existing neighbourhood and new developments the proposal features a restrained palette of concrete elements as well as natural coloured metals and finishes. Naturally ventilated residential lobbies with pocket gardens/planter boxes on each level aid in contributing to the amenity for this project.
